Jurnal Ilmu Sosial  (p-ISSN 1411-8254 , e-ISSN 2548-4893 ) provides a platform for publishing original scientific articles resulting from research and development in the social and political fields. JIS publishes research, development, and review articles in the following areas: Public Administration, Business Administration, Communication Science, Government Science, Sociology, and International Relations.

As a fully open-access journal, Jurnal Ilmu Sosial makes all articles freely available to anyone, at any time, and from anywhere in the world.

This journal is published by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro. It has been accredited by the National Journal Accreditation, managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Republic of Indonesia, with a Second Grade from 2022 to 2026, as per Decree No.230/E/KPT/2022.

As an open-access journal, JIS is indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Google Scholar,  SINTA-Science and Technology Index, Dimensions, and Crossref with a DOI number: 10.14710/jis.

For the year 2026, two issues are scheduled for publication in volume 25: Issue 1 (June) and Issue 2 (December), each containing 7-10 articles. The journal has been in publication since August 2006.
