It also consists of your why you do the research (research purpose), when-where-how you do your research (research methods), and what you got from this research (research results) so the viewers have brief idea about your fulltext version. Around 100-300 words were more preferable to explain your paper in this part. Try to avoid less important quotation since this your paper outlook.  Introduction

MODUL ( ISSN-P: 0853-2877, e-ISSN : 2598-327X) http://ejournal.undip.ac.id/index.php/modul ais an architecture scientific journal publication in colaboration of Department of Architecture in Engineering Faculty at Diponegoro University  with Indonesia Architect Association (IAI) region Central Java. MODUL is a scientific publication and communication media of architecture design, human settlement, building construction, history of architecture, environmental design and building sciences..

This introduction shows the research’s backgrounds, purpose and goals, previous works (Sukawi et all, 2003; Bangun et all, 2009) with updated knowledge (sukawi, 2015) and latest citations (Indrakusumo & Sukawi, 2016) to strenghten the articles’s urgency and originality. Your article will be reviewed by at least two double blind peer-reviewers to surpass the publication screening since 2003.

 

Titles, Author’s Name and Address

Article title, authors’ name (without academic degree) and author address/affiliation must be written centerd in first page as title-author name-address consecutively. The vertical space between title and author name is 2pt and space between author address and abstract is 1pt. The keywordmust be in 3~5 words and written after the abstract in italic, in alphabetical order with comma (,).

Corresponding Author marked by asterisk followed by comma “*)” as written on example. Corresponding author must put on his/her email address to support communication with editors.

Multiple authors must be seperated by comma and never shorten the name of more than 2 sylables author’s name for metadata indexing, eg: Riskiyanto & Harini, 2015; Prabowo, 2012)

 

Article writting guideline

The article must be formatted as follow (in MS Word .doc) before being submit to :

  2. Online Submission System at Modul E-Journal portal (http://ejournal.undip.ac.id/index.php/modul) after author had signup at “register” .

Further articles online submission can be read on online submission guideline. Articles which not follow the journal format will be returned to the author before continue to review process

The Articles shall follow the scientific paper formats, such : (a) title (b) author (c) affilitation (address) (d) abstract and keyword (e) introduction/opening (f) research contents which may consist of many writting style of f (f)literature study (f)material and method (f) analysis or explaination (f) result and discussion (g) conclusion/clossing (i) acknowledgement (optional) (j) reference

Subtitle writting on each articles chapter must been wrote in arabic number format start from one, in BOLD and Title Case format, left alligned without underline. Sub-Subtitle must been wrote in BOLD, sentence case format, left aligned, and level 2 format writting.

Articles must be written in Bahasa Indonesia or English, maximum 10 pages included images and tables. The Articles must be followed the journal template and ready to print. The paper size is A4 (210x297mm) using margin left 25mm, right 20mm, bottom 20mm, top 30mm. The article body’s font is Times New Roman 10 pt, spacing 1 pt, two columns format and line spacing 10mm.

Scientific or foreign words wrote in italic.  Eventhough try to avoid using foreign words in writting. New paragraph formats are 10mm from left and no space between paragraph. All number must be written in arabic number, except in beginning of the sentences.

Tables and Figures must be put under/after the mentioned text. Every figures, tables,diagrams and equations must be titled below the object and numbered in order.  The Figures must be readable (font sizes, resolutions, etc).  Figures and Tables shall be put on text column or in the middle of the pages according to the size. Table use only  horizontal borders but no vertical border.

 

Special Guide for article’s body writing

Article title : the title must short and summarizes as specifically, accurately, and concisely as possible what the paper is about. The title must be written using symetric uppercase letter, and avoid using unfamiliar acronyms. The writting order is main study then the specific study.

Opening/introduction : consist of (in order) background, previous study, state of art, originality, problem statement, hypothesis, study’s target and goals. This journal format is forbiding literature review but using state of art, previous study as originality statement.

Research Contents describe about your research for this will be published paper. It may structured as follow :

  • Literature study : consist of the previous references, background theories and base of study operation
  • Material and Method : consist of main material and method used in the research study include analysing methods. Only wrote main materials with its brand and ingridients ((ex: H2SO4 (Merck, 99%)). Only wrote main tools brand (ex:Electric Furnace (Carbolite)) without mentioning the complentary tools. The main tools shall be equiped with figure caption with title. The finishing methods also written in this chapter.
  • Analysis or explaination : consist of your research analysist formulated datas description, finding description-naration-exposition
  • Result and Discussion : consist of research findings and its scientific discussion. The scientific findings must be supported by proper data and materials. The scientific findings are not datas but must be described scientificly, such: the meanings, the reasons, the origins, variable trends, how it can be found, related to which phenomenon etc. In Addition, the result also able to be compare with others study in the same topic.The significant state is the result must answer the hypothesis or research question in the introduction

Conclussion : shall answer the hypotesis, research question, research goals and targets. This chapter is not rewriting the result but concluding it. In this chapter also can be written with further study suggestion.

Acknowledgement : is chapter to acknowledge the research sponsors, teams, etc

References : are all written and used as references in the articles, commonly minimum 10 references, 80% shall be latest primary references (under 10 years publications) and the writting refered to references management application. such : mendeley, end note, zotero, etc.

Please use related citation manager software, such: mendeley, endnote, zotero, msword and set into APA

Equations writing guide

Every equations are centered in column, numbered undercase on right alignment. Equations must be put on Equation Editor in MS Word or Open Office (Primack, 1983)                                                                                 (1)

6. Quotation and citations writing guide

Every citation and quotations must be noted by the authors by references mention. Citations and quotations must be mentioned the reference in text body by following format : single author reference (author, years), multiple reference (author et al, years). All quotation and citations in the text must be written on references and respectively. (Wang et al, 2011).

 

7. References writing guide

The writting refered to references management application. such : mendeley, grammarly, end note, zotero, etc.. This journal format is following the format of APA (American Psychological Association).

Register the coresponding author in “Register” or address: http://ejournal.undip.ac.id/index.php/modul/user/register

 

After login as Author, click “New Submission”. There are 5 step of submission : (1). Start,(2). Upload Submission, (3). Enter Metadata, (4).Upload Supplementary Files, (5). Confirmation

 

At Start, select Jurnal Section (Full Article), check all check list.

 

At Upload Submission please upload the article

 

At Enter Metadata, please write the input of author, affilition, title, abstract, and keywords

 

At Upload Supplementary Files, you can upload the suplementary files

 

At Confirmation, click “Finish Submission” after all completed

Submission Preparation Checklist

  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal. Transfer of copyright to publish can be downloaded on right side menu and submit it after filled with your article as supplementary file.
