Abstract
This research is a result of observation towards sidewalk traders at Simpang
Lima area, Pati Regency, as well as finding alternatives as a recommendation
for the government of Pati Regency related to the development of Simpang
Lima area. This effort is of importance since the number of these traders has
been increasing significantly, causing the serious untidiness of the area. Besides
it has also been causing various problems related to the regencial law
enforcement and horizontal conflict among these traders. Policy recommendation
was found through policy analysis method, based on technical, economic and
financial, administrative, as well as political feasibilities. It is suggested among
others that the number of these traders should be limited, area zonation is applied,
while traders from out of town is banned.
