SURAT LAMARAN KERJA BERBAHASA INGGRIS DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN MEDIA WEBSITE INTERNET

Paper ini membahas tentang lowongan pekerjaan dan penulisan surat lamaran pekerjaan berbahasa Inggris menggunakan media website internet di era digital saat ini. Penulis menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dalam menguraikan data penelitian yang diteliti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seorang pelamar kerja dapat menulis dan mengirim surat lamaran pekerjaan berbahasa Inggris secara online dengan menggunakan media website internet. Surat lamaran kerja elektronik ditulis dengan memperhatikan komposisi paragraf isi surat yang harus terpenuhi. Menulis lamaran pekerjaan secara elektronik sangat berbeda dengan surat lamaran pekerjaan non-elektronik. Seorang pelamar kerja harus membaca informasi lowongan di website perusahaan, mendownload dokumen, dan mengupload berkas file dokumen lamaran kerja ke website perusahaan tersebut. Saat melamar pekerjaan menggunakan media website perusahaan di internet, seorang pelamar kerja harus mampu “menjual dirinya” secara khusus yang menunjukkan perbedaan keunggulan dibandingkan para pelamar kerja lainnya. Nilai jual diri seorang pelamar kerja mencakup keunggulan hard skill dan soft skill yang identik dengan berbagai macam ketrampilan pengetahuan tentang pekerjaan dan ketrampilan berinteraksi serta berkomunikasi dengan orang lain.

This paper discusses job vacancy and job application letter written in English by using internet website media in this digital era. The writers use qualitative-descriptive research method in elaborating research data. The result of the research indicates that a job applicant can write and submit a job application letter in English online by using internet website media. An electronic job application letter is written by taking notice to the composition of paragraph content requirements. Writing an electronic job application letter differs from a non-electronic job application letter. A job applicant has to read the information of job vacancy provided on company website, download the related documents, and upload the filled documents of job application to the company website. When applying for a job on a company website, a job applicant has to be able to sell himself or herself distinctively by showing an excellent difference compared to other applicants. Distinctive self-selling of a job applicant covers an excellent hard skill-soft skill, identically related to various kinds of any job knowledge skills as well as interactive and communicative skills with other people.
