It is recognized that Chinese society in Indonesia can be classified into two groups, i.e. pure-blooded and half-bred. Both groups organize different marriage custom. Pure-blooded group still follow the traditional custom while the half-bred left the traditional custom and attached either to their religion or Western style. At the present time the Chinese society tends to follow the traditional style as the consequence of the decree of president Abdurachman Wachid No.6/2000.
