Nahel was a minor at the time of the incident and was driving a vehicle with foreign license plates. Therefore, legally, Nahel was in a disadvantageous position. On the other hand, Nahel was of Algerian descent, which meant that he also belonged to a minority group in France. The media served as a conduit for shaping information about Nahel in order to gain public sympathy. This study was conducted using qualitative techniques, and the research data was analyzed using Entman's framing theory. With further analysis using Entman's elements, this study successfully dissected Nahel's position in the view of both media outlets. For Tout Sur l'Algérie, which tends to have a left-wing political view, defending Nahel Merzouk as a victim is an important aspect that needs to be highlighted. In its reporting, this media outlet also often protects Nahel's family, who are of Algerian descent, with straightforward diplomatic messages. Meanwhile, Le Figaro voiced more about defending the state and public order, which was discussed through Éric Ciotti's statements. The aspect of controlling the situation in France became the focus of the media's reporting. In other words, Le Figaro tended to have a right-wing political view in its reporting. }, issn = {2502-5783}, pages = {51--68} doi = {10.14710/humanika.v33i1.82957}, url = {https://ejournal.undip.ac.id/index.php/humanika/article/view/82957} }
