KUALITAS SPASIAL KOTA LAMA BENGKULU: SPACE SYNTAX SEBAGAI LANDASAN PERENCANAAN REVITALISASI

Abstract
Kota Bengkulu yang berada di pesisir barat Sumatera memiliki potensi besar dalam jaringan perdagangan maritim pada abad ke-17. Sebagai kawasan pesisir, Bengkulu menjadi titik masuk interaksi berbagai bangsa dan budaya. Selama 140 tahun, sejak 1685 hingga 1825, Inggris menjadikan Bengkulu pusat ekspansi kolonial dan perdagangan. Pengaruh Inggris melalui English East India Company (EIC) terwujud dalam warisan arsitektur dan perencanaan tata kota, terutama melalui perkembangan aktivitas kolonial di sekitar pelabuhan dan kawasan pesisir. Kawasan tersebut merupakan pusat pemerintahan dan aktivitas pada masa kolonial, yang saat ini diidentifikasi sebagai kawasan Kota Lama Bengkulu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai kualitas spasial Kota Lama Bengkulu sebagai bekas wilayah jajahan Inggris. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan analisis kuantitatif berdasarkan teori Space Syntax sebagai metode analisis guna memahami konfigurasi spasial dan pergerakan manusia dalam jaringan jalan. Hasil analisis mengungkapkan bahwa kawasan Kota Lama Bengkulu memiliki konfigurasi spasial historis yang masih kuat, tetapi mengalami tantangan dalam aksesibilitas dan keterbacaan ruang. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi substansial untuk mendorong proses pengembangan revitalisasi kawasan bersejarah Kota Bengkulu terhadap peningkatan karakteristik spasial kawasan.
