STRATEGI PENGEMBANGAN SEKTOR KEHUTANAN DAN PERKEBUNAN DI KABUPATEN REMBANG

Abstract

Agricultural sector has a very strategic role in supporting national economic,
and therefore should become the main priority. However, many governments
policies are not farmer interest based, causing this sector still faces many
problems, both externally and internally, related to local autonomy era and
globalization. There are many challenges in the future for the development of
this sector to produce high competitive products and to provide positive
contributions to the growth of local economics, while focusing on the societys
empowerment. It is necessary to increase various efforts in running any kinds of
sources and potencies,
By applying the principles of accurate strategic management in the forestry
and plantation sectors in Rembang Regency, using SWOT analysis. There are
eight alternatives recommended, covering: strategy for increasing production
and productivity, the development of agro business area, creating high quality
products, the development of appropriate technology, the development of
cooperative pattern, the improvement of the role of PPL (field agricultural worker),
the improvement of coordination, and fund efficiency.
