JMASIF publishes original research and review articles in the field of Computer Science, with a focus on:Â
The journal also welcomes interdisciplinary research, provided that the primary scientific contribution lies within the defined scope of computer science.
All manuscripts submitted to this journal should follow focus and scope, and author guidelines of this journal. When a manuscript is submitted, it is given a submission ID number. Always refer to this number in communications with the editor. It is the responsibility of the corresponding author to inform the coauthors of the manuscript’s status throughout the review and publication processes.
All submitted manuscripts must be original and free from plagiarism. Each submission is screened for similarity using Turnitin/iThenticate before being considered for peer review. All authors are strongly encouraged to use plagiarism detection software to check the similarity level before submitting the draft. Editors will review all manuscripts to identify any similarity with existing publications. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20% may be returned for revision or rejected at the editor’s discretion. The Editor reviews the manuscript for scope and assigns reviewers. All manuscripts are considered to be confidential and undergo a Single-blind review.
Furthermore, the Editor will designate a minimum of two (2) people as Peer Reviewers to review and assess the substance of eligibility of each text. Based on comments from Peer Reviewer, section editors and editors in chief will make decisions for the related manuscripts. The editorial team of JMASIF will do its best to ensure fairness, clarity, and transparency in the blind peer review process and editorial decisions.
The median editorial timelines for 2025 are as follows:
Median time to first decision: 16 days
Median time from submission to decision after peer review: 64 days
Median time from submission to acceptance: 93 days
Median time from acceptance to publication: 8 days

Jurnal Masyarakat Informatika (JMASIF) in accordance with COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines
The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed journal is a critical building block in the development of a coherent and respected body of knowledge. It reflects the quality of the authors’ work and the institutions that support them. JMASIF is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice.
This statement outlines the ethical standards for all parties involved in the publishing process, including the authors, the editors, the peer reviewers, and the publisher (Department of Informatics, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Universitas Diponegoro), based on the Committee on Publication Ethics COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
Editors are responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal should be published, guided by the quality, originality, and relevance of the work.
Manuscripts shall be evaluated based on their scientific content without regard to the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, nationality, or political beliefs.
Editors must maintain confidentiality concerning all submitted manuscripts and must not disclose any information about a manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, or other editorial advisers.
Editors must not use unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript for their own research without the author's express written consent.
Peer reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and may also help authors improve their manuscripts through constructive feedback.
Reviewers should notify the editors if they are unable to review a manuscript or can do so only with significant delay.
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared with others without authorization.
Reviews should be conducted objectively and supported with clear arguments. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate.
Reviewers should identify uncited relevant work and notify the editor of any substantial similarity or overlap with other published materials.
Reviewers must not use privileged information for personal advantage and should not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
Authors should present an accurate account of the work performed and provide sufficient detail to permit replication by others.
Authors should be prepared to provide raw data for editorial review and retain such data for a reasonable time after publication.
Authors must ensure that their works are original and appropriately cite or quote others’ work.
Authors should not publish the same research in more than one journal. Concurrent submissions are considered unethical.
Only individuals who have made significant contributions to the research should be listed as authors. All co-authors must approve the final version of the manuscript.
Authors must properly acknowledge the work of others and cite all relevant publications.
All financial and non-financial conflicts of interest must be disclosed in the manuscript.
Authors must clearly identify any hazards associated with the research and indicate appropriate ethical approvals when human or animal subjects are involved.
If an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they must promptly inform the journal editor to retract or correct the paper.
The use of generative AI tools to fabricate data, manipulate results, generate fake references, or misrepresent authorship constitutes research misconduct and will be investigated and addressed in accordance with COPE flowcharts and best practices.
The disclosure must be clearly stated in the manuscript, either in a dedicated section entitled “Declaration of the Use of Generative AI” or within the Acknowledgements section.
JMASIF takes allegations of research misconduct seriously. Cases involving fabrication, falsification, citation manipulation, plagiarism, or undisclosed/inappropriate use of generative AI tools will be investigated in accordance with COPE flowcharts and best practices.
