Abstract

This research project focuses on implementing electronic courts and litigation processes within district and religious courts in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The research approach utilized integrates both normative and empirical legal research methodologies. The research findings indicate that implementing the e-court and e-litigation system is effective. It is essential to strengthen accountability and transparency within the e-court and e-litigation system to establish an independent and impartial electronic justice system. This can be accomplished by improving several key areas: the quality assurance of electronic justice, the independence and impartiality of judges within an electronic framework, the implementation of an electronic-based registrar system, the recording of trials electronically, ensuring data security, and providing unlimited access across both space and time.
