On February 25, 2024, Jurnal Sabda: Kajian Kebudayaan underwent a comprehensive overhaul. Since the journal had last published an article in 2019, a systematic and strategic process was undertaken to revive it. Following the retirement of Prof. Dr. Nurdin Harry Kistanto, M.A. in 2023, the journal required a regeneration of its management. Consequently, Prof. Alamsyah, S.S., M.Hum. took over the leadership of the Editorial Board, and several executive editors were subsequently appointed. Among the systematic changes implemented by the newly formed team was the transformation of the scientific article layout from a two-column to a single-column format, aimed at enhancing readability and achieving greater simplification. The second step was refining the design of every issue published starting in 2024.


Sabda: Jurnal Kajian Kebudayaan is an academic journal dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of cultural phenomena, tradition, and social dynamics. First published by the Faculty of Humanities at Universitas Diponegoro, the journal has served as a critical forum for scholars and researchers exploring Indonesian and global cultural contexts.

Over the years, the publication has continuously enhanced its editorial standards and peer-review process. Marking a significant milestone in its history, Sabda successfully regained its Sinta 4 national accreditation in 2024. To expand its international reach and scholarly impact, the journal now exclusively accepts manuscript submissions written in English.
