Salah satu penerapan dari teknologi IoT adalah sebuah sistem smart home yang dapat mengendalikan penggunaan peralatan rumah tangga secara lebih praktis. Penelitian ini mengusulkan sistem smart home yang mengontrol peralatan rumah tangga berbasis Internet of Things (IoT). Sistem yang dirancang memanfaatkan mikrokontroler NodeMCU, basis data Firebase, dan aplikasi Android berbasis Flutter. Sistem yang diusulkan memiliki 4 fitur utama. Fitur pertama memungkinkan kontrol perangkat rumah tangga melalui perintah suara menggunakan Flutter Speech API yang mendukung komunikasi berbahasa Indonesia. Fitur yang dikembangkan mencakup pengendalian lampu, televisi, dan sound system. Fitur pengendalian berbasis perintah suara diuji dengan variasi jarak dan lingkungan ber-noise. Fitur kedua adalah fitur EcoMode yang berfungi untuk menyala-matikan lampu secara terjadwal. Fitur ini menggunakan Network Time Protocol (NTP) untuk menentukan waktu secara real-time tanpa modul Real Time Clock (RTC) tambahan. Fitur ketiga adalah fitur pemantauan konsumsi daya listrik menggunakan sensor arus SCT-013 yang diletakkan pada rangkaian breaker. Nilai daya diperoleh dengan mengalikan arus dengan tegangan 220V. Fitur keempat adalah fitur smart remote yang dapat mengendalikan peralatan rumah tangga melalui aplikasi pada smartphone layaknya remote control. Sistem smart home ini terbukti menawarkan efisiensi dan kemudahan pengelolaan perangkat rumah tangga dalam satu aplikasi.
