Analisis Kajian Folklore dalam Upacara Tradisional Massorong Lopi di Desa Tapango, Kabupaten Polman, Sulawesi Barat

Abstract
Kajian penelitian ini di latar belakangi oleh permasalahan fenomena bahwa pelaksanaan upacara tradisional di Indonesia pada umumnya tidak diwariskan secara tertulis atau tidak di dokumentasikan melainkan dilakukan secara lisan dan dicontohkan dalam bentuk perbuatan. Fenomena ini juga terjadi di daerah Desa Tapango, Sulawesi Barat pada upacara tradisional Massorong Lopi. Hal ini tentu dapat menimbulkan kekhawatiran apabila tidak ada orang yang bersedia melakukannya pada suatu hari nanti.  Analisis kajian folklore digunakan untuk meninjau sikap dibalik perbuatan kebudayaan masyarakat Indonesia dalam kasus Upacara Massorong Lopi yang pelaksanaan ritualnya diwariskan secara lisan dan dicontohkan dalam bentuk perbuatan. Kajian penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan jawaban motif dibalik perbuatan masyarakat tersebut. Melalui metode penelitian studi pustaka yang merujuk kepada pemikiran hasil riset para ahli folklore, kebudayaan, dan ritus dari berbagai negara dan menggunakan metodologi ilmu budaya, hasil temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa motif utama masyarakat di Desa Tapango tetap mempertahankan tradisi lisan pada pewarisan upacara tradisional Massorong Lopi adalah karena tradisi ini sudah dilakukan sejak turun temurun dan menjadi bagian dari kehidupan mereka yang memandang bahwa pewarisan secara lisan dinilai dipercaya keaslian informasi yang diberikan dibandingkan secara tertulis. Hal ini yang kemudian menjadi pembeda sekaligus ciri khas antara budaya pelaksanaan upacara tradisional orang-orang Timur dan orang-orang Barat.
