Abstract

The form of service’s activity to society is a training for the elderly group with the theme "The Use of Folding Paper as Anticipation of Dementia for Elderly Group at Sekarjalak Village". The reasons for choosing this theme are 1) The importance of academic being an extension of the government to support the health care program in elderly groups, 2) The elderly group is susceptible to degenerative diseases of brain function, and 3) The elderly group in the village is rarely choosen as  the target of the Student KKN Team program. The art of folding paper (origami) Japan has been a therapy to storm brain function for elderly in Japan that can be applied by elderly Indonesia. In addition as a form of therapy is also able to provide strengthening of the brain, cognitive and motoric functions. The activity takes place with the practice method of making the work in accordance with the patterns in the manual. Although there are time constraints for elderly people who are sick on some parts of the body, but the activity went well and smoothly to the end. All participants took an active and enthusiastic role following the instructions of the devotion team. Hope in the future is the elderly group can become one of the mandatory targets for the servants of society later.
