PELATIHAN MENULIS RESEP MASAKAN DALAM BAHASA INGGRIS BAGI SISWA JURUSAN TATA BOGA SMK IBU KARTINI SEMARANG

Kemampuan menulis resep masakan dalam bahasa Inggris adalah ketrampilan yang berguna bagi siapapun yang menggeluti dunia masak-memasak dan ingin resep masakannya dikenal luas tidak hanya di dalam negeri namun juga di luar negeri. Berpijak pada pendapat tersebut, Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat yang dilaksanakan di jurusan tata boga SMK Ibu Kartini Semarang bertujuan memberikan langkah-langkah yang berguna dalam membuat resep masakan yang baik dalam bahasa Inggris. Agar pelaksanaan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat berjalan dengan lancer dan meminimalisir kendala bahasa, pelatihan menggunakan Metode Dwi Bahasa yang merupakan kombinasi penggunakan bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa ibu dan bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa yang dipelajari. Pelatihan dibagi dalam dua sesi, yaitu sesi penyajian materi yang komunikatif dan sesi latihan terpandu. Hasil pelatihan singkat menunjukkan bahwa sejak awal para siswa jurusan tata boga SMK Ibu Kartini sangat antusias mengikuti sesi penjelasan dan sesi latihan terpandu. Materi yang familiar bagi mereka, metode dua bahasa yang fleksibel, serta manfaat pelatihan ini bagi mereka membuat siswa jurusan tata boga SMK Ibu Kartini tidak merasa takut atau terbebani dengan sesi pelatihan tersebut. Simpulan yang bisa ditarik adalah perlu dilakukan pelatihan sejenis secara periodik karena memberikan manfaat praktis bagi siswa jurusan tata boga SMK Ibu Kartini.

The ability to write recipes in English is a useful skill for anyone who is involved in the cooking world and wants his/her recipes to be widely known not only domestically but also abroad. Based on this opinion, Community Service that is carried out in the culinary department of SMK (vocational high school) Ibu Kartini Semarang aims to provide useful steps in making good recipes in English. In order that the implementation of Community Service runs smoothly and minimizes language barriers, the training uses the Bilingual Method which is a combination of using Bahasa Indonesia as a mother tongue and English as a foreign language learned. The training was divided into two sessions, namely communicative material presentation sessions and guided training sessions. The results of the short training showed that from the beginning the students of SMK (the vocational high school) Ibu Kartini were very enthusiastic in participating in the explanation and guided training sessions. Because the material is familiar to them, the bilingual method is flexible, and the training is beneficial for them the students of the culinary department of SMK Ibu Kartini do not feel afraid or burdened with the training session. The conclusion that can be drawn is that periodic training needs to be carried out because it provides practical benefits for students majoring in the culinary department at SMK Ibu Kartini.
