These factor are very important for the growth of microorganisms and meioorganisms as well as the overall turnover of organic matter. Bioturbation within the sediment will influence the shear strength, water content, bed roughness, erosion velocity and other organisms. Abstract
Activities of burrowing benthic macrofauna are influenced by both the physical structure and the chemical composition of sediment. These factor are very important for the growth of microorganisms and meioorganisms as well as the overall turnover of organic matter. Bioturbation within the sediment will influence the shear strength, water content, bed roughness, erosion velocity and other organisms.
