  • Jurnal Kimia Sains dan Aplikasi (JKSA) was first published under the name Jurnal Kimia Sains dan Terapan in 1998. Starting in 1999, the journal changed its name to Jurnal Kimia Sains dan Aplikasi after obtaining the ISSN 1410-8917.
  • In 1999, JKSA was published four times a year. From then on, until volume 20 (2017), it was published three times a year. Beginning in 2017, JKSA committed to improving its management and increased its publication frequency to four times a year.
  • In 2017, JKSA obtained the e-ISSN 2597-9914. Starting in 2018, the journal was published four times a year in January, April, July, and October. In July 2018, JKSA was accredited by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education as a "3rd-rank journal" (Sinta 3). In February 2019, it improved its accreditation to a "2nd-rank journal" (Sinta 2).
  • Starting in 2019, JKSA was published six times a year at the end of January, March, May, July, September, and November.
