Abstract

Latar belakang: Tidur merupakan salah satu kebutuhan dasar yang harus dipenuhi oleh manusia agar tubuh bisa berfungsi normal untuk beraktivitas secara optimal sehari-hari. Namun, tidak semua orang memiliki pola tidur yang normal. Di indonesia, prevalensi gangguan tidur mencapai angka 10%, atau sekitar 23 juta dari 238 juta penduduk indonesia menderita gangguan tidur. Faktor-faktor terkait tidur bermacam-macam meliputi faktor gaya hidup, faktor psikososial, faktor lingkungan, dan faktor kondisi medis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara tingkat stres, tingkat kecemasan, dan tingkat depresi dengan kejadian gangguan tidur pada mahasiswa Universitas Diponegoro.
Metode: Penelitian ini berjenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan analitik obsevasional dengan desain studi Cross-Sectional. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa Universitas Diponegoro dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 223 responden. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah metode purposive sampling. Uji statistik Chi-Square digunakan untuk menganalisis hubungan antar variabel.
Hasil: Hasil analisis Chi-Square menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat stres (p=0,001), tingkat kecemasan (p=0,000), dan tingkat depresi (p=0,002) dengan kejadian gangguan tidur pada mahasiswa Universitas Diponegoro.
Simpulan: Faktor psikologis seperti stres, kecemasan dan depresi pada mahasiswa dapat menyebabkan gangguan tidur. Mahasiswa diharapkan untuk mencari konseling sebelum kondisi kesehatan mentalnya memburuk dan universitas diharapkan memberikan layanan konseling bagi mahasiswa. Menjaga kesehatan mental dengan baik dapat mencegah gangguan tidur.

ABSTRACT

Title: The Relationship between Stress, Anxiety and Depression and Sleep Disorders in Diponegoro University Students

Background: Sleep is an important component of human homeostasis. However, not everyone has normal sleep patterns. in indonesia, the prevalence of sleep disorders reaches 10%, or around 23 million of the total 238 million indonesian population suffer from sleep disorders. There are various factors related to sleep, including lifestyle factors, medical condition factors, environmental factors, and psychosocial factors include stress, anxiety and depression. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship level of stress, level of depression, and level of anxiety with the incidence of sleep disorder in Diponegoro University students.
Method: This study is a quantitative study with an observational analytical approach using a Cross-Sectional study design. The study population is Diponegoro University students. This study used a purposive sampling technique with a sample of 223 respondents. Bivariate analysis to test the relationship between variables uses the Chi-Square statistical test. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately. Bivariate analysis uses the Chi-Square statistical test to analyze the relationship between variables.
Result: This study showed that 52% students had at least one type of sleep disorder. The type of sleep disorder most often experienced by Diponegoro University students is insomnia (34%). There is a relationship between stress level (p=0.001), anxiety level (p=0.000), and depression level (p=0.002) with the incidence of sleep disorder in Diponegoro University students.
Conclusion: Psychological factors such as stress, anxiety and depression in students can cause sleep disorders. Students are expected to seek counseling before their mental health condition worsens and universities are expected to provide counseling services for students. Maintaining good mental health can prevent sleep disorders.
