Analisis Laju Deforestasi Hutan Manggrove Menggunakan GIS di Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan Kabupaten Deli Serdang

Abstract

Hutan mangrove memiliki peran penting dalam ekologi dan sosial ekonomi. Namun ekosistem mangrove terus mengalami deforestasi. Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan Kabupaten Deli Serdang merupakan salah satu kecamatan yang juga mengalami deforestasi akibat konversi lahan mangrove. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi laju deforestasi mangrove secara spasial dan menganalisis factor penyebabnya. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, interpretasi citra multi-temporal Landsat 8, wawancara dan studi dokumen. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis spasial dengan SIG dan analisis data secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan deforestasi terjadi pada Desa Percut dan Desa Tanjung Rejo Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan. Laju deforestasi mangrove tertinggi terdapat pada Desa Percut. Faktor antropogenik atau aktivitas manusia menjadi penyebab utama deforestasi mangrove di Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan Kabupaten Deli Serdang yang meliputi aktivitas perikanan khususnya tambak. Kelompok nelayan memiliki perizinan untuk membuka lahan mangrove untuk dijadikan pertambakan. Bahkan ada kepemilikan lahan mangrove secara pribadi di Desa Percut dan Desa Tanjung Rejo. Sedangkan faktor alam tidak terlalu berpengaruh pada kerusakan ekosistem mangrove di Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan. Usaha konservasi dan rehabilitasi mangrove di Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan sudah dilaksanakan. Namun tingginya angka konservasi lahan tidak mampu mengimbangi program konservasi, sehingga luasan hutan mangrove terus mengalami penurunan sepanjang tahun.
