Inovasi Fonologis dan Variasi Leksikal dalam Bahasa Bugis Dialek Sinjai

Abstract

This paper is about innovation in Buginese language that is used in Sinjai Regency. The result of the study indicates that there are six vowel phonemes and 21 consonant phonemes. Two kinds of phonological variations are found: vowel variations, namely, [e] ~ [i], [a] ~ [i], [o] ~ [u], [a] ~ [|], and [o] ~ [|], and consonant variations, namely, [k] ~ [g], and [w] ~ [h]. The lexical variation indicates the following linguistic phenomena: onomatiology, aphaeresis, syncope, epenthesis, prothesis, and metathesis. The result indicates that there are  lexical items  different from those of the standard Buginese language but  have similarities with Konjo language.

Dalam makalah ini dibahas mengenai inovasi dalam bahasa   Bugis dialek Sinjai. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa terdapat 6 fonem vokal dan 21 fonem konsonan dalam bahasa Bugis dialek Sinjai. Ditemukan juga dua jenis variasi fonologis, yaitu variasi fonem vokal: [e] ~ [i], [a] ~ [i], [o] ~ [u], [a] ~ [|], dan [o] ~ [|], serta variasi konsonan:  [k] ~ [g], dan [w] ~ [h]. Variasi leksikal yang ditemukan meliputi beberapa gejala kebahasaan, yaitu: onomasiologis, aferesis, sinkope, epentesis, protesis, dan metatesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa banyak leksikon bahasa Bugis dialek Sinjai berbeda dengan bahasa Bugis standar, tetapi mirip dengan leksikon bahasa Konjo.
