The initiative to commence with the publication of a new journal REAKTOR as a part of the Indonesian initiative for national cooperation is described. REAKTOR is an international forum for disseminating original research papers, reviews, and discussions on the latest developments in chemical engineering and other related fields. The journal's scope is broad and has no limitations except the requirement for a high relevance to chemical engineering.
The criteria for accepting papers are based on their originality, scientific quality of work, and clarity of style. Given the primary goals for the new journal published by the Department of Chemical Engineering - Faculty of Engineering- Universitas Diponegoro, the establishment of the international editorial board, and experience was obtained in 10 years of publishing. All manuscripts are subject to evaluation by at least two reputable experts. The official language of the journal is English. The editor and editorial board make the final decision about the acceptance of a manuscript. The final version of each accepted manuscript is subject to metric (SI units and IUPAC recommendations) and English language editing. A galley proof will be sent to the corresponding authors before publication. An article processing charge is imposed on the accepted manuscript to ensure that all published manuscripts.
From 1997 to 2011, REAKTOR published two issues yearly, i.e., in June and December. Since 2012, however, REAKTOR has been published every April and October. A new policy was introduced in 2022 to respond to the increasing demand from authors by adding the number of the issue to three in one volume of the publication year. Therefore, REAKTOR was issued in April, August, and December.
The journal had successfully maintained its status as an accredited national journal as stipulated by Directorate General of Research Empowering and Developments, Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education through SK No. 60/E/KPT/2016 for the next of five years (2016 to 2021) with p-ISSN No. 0852-0798 (printed version) and e-ISSN No. 2407-5973 (electronic version). In 2018, SINTA 2 was ranked through SK No. 30/E/KPT/2018. REAKTOR has developed an online article management system for an accredited national journal. Hence, all the submission and review processes are conducted online. Since 2022, REAKTOR has been fully published on the internet with a unique DOI number three times yearly to ensure that it only publishes high-quality manuscripts.
