Author Guidelines

GUIDELINES FOR THE AUTHORS

Authors are invited to submit for publication scientific articles reporting original work that is relevant to health promotion issues and health behavior-related sciences. The author should use the manuscript template provided by JPKI. Writing guidelines and templates can be downloaded at this link: JPKI Template (since Volume 12 No 1 Year 2017).

General Guidelines

  1. Manuscripts must be submitted with the understanding that they have not been published previously and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere. By submitting a manuscript, the corresponding author confirms that the publication of the article has been approved by all co-authors. The corresponding author is also responsible for ensuring that manuscripts originating from a particular institution have received the necessary institutional approval.
  2. Manuscripts must be submitted through the online submission system and should be written clearly and concisely using OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document formats.
  3. Authors reporting results from in vivo experiments involving humans or animals must state in the Materials and Methods section that ethical approval was obtained from the appropriate ethics committee. In addition, authors submitting manuscripts involving human studies must upload a verified ethical approval letter from the Ethics Committee or Institutional Review Board (IRB).
  4. Manuscripts, including tables, figure legends, and references, must be typed using Times New Roman, font size 11 pt, with 1.15 line spacing on A4 paper (21.5 × 28 cm). Margins should be 2.5 cm at the top and bottom and 1.5 cm on the left and right sides. The manuscript length should be 3,000–4,000 words. Pages must be numbered consecutively, without footnotes. Manuscripts must be written in clear and concise English.
  5. All submitted articles will be screened by the editors for formatting compliance, suitability within the journal’s scope, plagiarism using Turnitin, and completeness of ethical approval documentation. Manuscripts that meet these requirements will undergo a double-blind peer-review process by at least two reviewers with relevant expertise.
  6. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements will not be processed, and authors will be notified by email.

Organizing the Manuscript

Title page
The title should be centered, bold, written in Times New Roman 16 pt, contain a maximum of 14 words, and avoid the use of acronyms.
Please provide the full names of all authors, their academic titles, institutional affiliations, institutional addresses, and the email address of the corresponding author. If authors are affiliated with different institutions, superscript numbers should be used to link each author to their respective institution. This section should be left-aligned, single-spaced, and written in Times New Roman 11 pt.

Abstract

The abstract must be written in English and should not exceed 300 words. Although unstructured, it should include the following components: background/introduction, methods, and results. The abstract should be concise yet sufficiently informative to allow readers to understand the key points of the manuscript without reading the full text. Keywords should be provided below the abstract. Authors should select 3–5 keywords or short phrases relevant to the manuscript for indexing purposes.

Introduction
The introduction should explain the rationale for the study and clearly present the research problem and objectives.

Method
The Methods section should describe the research design, study setting (time and place), sampling methods, research variables, data collection procedures, and data analysis techniques.

Result and Discussion

This section should present the main findings of the study in narrative form and/or using tables, charts, and figures. Tables should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are cited in the text and should be accompanied by brief titles placed above the tables. A maximum of six tables is allowed. Figures should be numbered consecutively as cited in the text, with captions placed below each figure. A maximum of six figures is permitted. The Discussion should not simply repeat the results. It should include analysis, interpretation, the authors’ perspectives, and comparisons with previously published research, highlighting the contribution of the findings to scientific knowledge.

Conclusion
The conclusion should provide a concise statement summarizing the main findings of the study in relation to the research questions and objectives.

Acknowledgements
Acknowledgements should appear after the Conclusion and before the References. This section may recognize individuals, institutions, organizations, or sponsors who contributed to the research but are not listed as authors. Funding sources may be acknowledged without stating the amount.

References

Authors are required to use a reference management tool (e.g., Mendeley) and apply the Vancouver citation style. References should be numbered in the order of appearance in the text and indicated using bracketed numerals. Only references cited in the manuscript should be listed.

A minimum of 25 references is required. At least 80% of the references must be from peer-reviewed journals, and 80% should be published within the last 10 years.

Conflict of Interest
Authors must declare that there are no potential conflicts of interest related to financial or other considerations that could influence the publication process.

Author Fees
Article submission is free of charge.
The Article Processing Charge (APC) is IDR 1,000,000, which covers editing, publishing, maintenance, archiving, and immediate open access to the full-text article.
