Dealuminasi zeolit alam dilakukan dengan cara direndam dengan menggunakan HCl 6 M, dan dilanjutkan dengan NH4NO3 2 M masing-masing selama 4 jam yang kemudian dikalsinasi pada suhu 300 oC. Zeolit alam hasil dealuminasi selanjutnya ditambah dengan surfaktan HDTMA pada konsentrasi 0,125; 0,25; 0,5 dan 1,0 M dan dishaker selama 8 jam dengan kecepatan 150 rpm pada temperatur kamar. Karakterisasi terhadap zeolit terdealuminasi dan modifikasi HDTMA dilakukan dengan spektroskopi FTIR. Uji kemampuan adsorpsi zeolit termodifikasi HDTMA dilakukan terhadap fenol. Untuk mengetahui jumlah fenol yang teradsorp, maka konsentrasi fenol sebelum dan sesudah adsorpsi ditentukan dengan spektroskopi UV-Vis.Spektra FTIR menunjukkan bahwa zeolit alam setelah diberi perlakukan dengan HCl 6 M dan NH4NO3 2 M mengalami dealuminasi. Adanya dealuminasi ditunjukkan oleh pergeseran pita dari 1045,3 cm-1 ke 1076,2 cm-1. Sedangkan adanya HDTMA pada zeolit terdealuminasi ditunjukkan oleh serapan pada daerah 2923,9 cm-1 dan 2854,5 cm-1. Dari hasil analisis spektroskopi UV-Vis, diketahui konsentrasi fenol yang teradsorp maksimum pada ZAD3 (konsentrasi HDTMA 0,5 M) yaitu sebesar 239,724 mg/L.Kata kunci: surfaktan HDTMA, zeolit terdealuminasi, adsorpsi fenol}, issn = {2597-9914}, pages = {11--14} doi = {10.14710/jksa.11.1.11-14}, url = {https://ejournal.undip.ac.id/index.php/ksa/article/view/3272} }
