Focus and Scope

Saintek Perikanan: Indonesian Journal of Fisheries Science and Technology (IJFST) is a scientific journal of Fisheries published by the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Diponegoro University. Starting 2020 The journal is published 4 (four) times a year (April, August, October and December).  This scientific journal includes the original publishes, peer-reviewed, using Indonesian language, related to water resources management, fishery resources arrest, cultivation, fishery technology, biotechnology, and remote sensing Maritime and fisheries.

Peer Review Process / Policy

All articles submitted to this journal must follow focus and scope, and author guidelines of this journal. The submitted manuscripts must address scientific merit or novelty appropriate to the focus and scope. All manuscripts must be free from plagiarism contents. All authors are suggested to use plagiarism detection softaware to do the similarity checking.
The research article submitted to this online journal will be peer-reviewed at least 2 (two) or more expert reviewers. The reviewers will give scientific comments on the contents of the manuscript.
Final decision of articles acceptance will be made by Editors according to reviewers comments. Plagiarism detection of articles in this journal is carried out by using Turnitin software. The mechanism is double blind.

 

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

Saintek Perikanan: Indonesian Journal of Fisheries Science and Technology (E-ISSN: 2549-0885) is an open access Journal. Authors can submitting and processing the article for free of charge in Saintek Perikanan : Indonesian Journal of Fisheries Science and Technology (IJFST) . But if your article is accepted for publication, you will be charged IDR 700.000,-

Publication Ethic

Saintek Perikanan: Indonesian Journal of Fisheries Science and Technology is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Diponegoro University. The ethical statement includes standards of conduct for authors, editors, reviewers and publishers. This statement describes the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the process of publishing an article in this journal, including the author, chief editor, Editorial Board, reviewers and publishers. This statement is based on the COPE Journal Best Practice Guidelines for Editors.

Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication

The publication of an article in Fisheries Science and Technology is a significant contribution to the development of research in the field of Aquatic, Fisheries and Marine Sciences. The articles published support the scientific method. Therefore, it is important to understand and agree on ethical standards for authors, editors, reviewers and publishers.


Journal Management Ethics

Publication Decision: 

The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about the submitted manuscript to anyone other than the authors, reviewers, prospective reviewers, other appropriate editorial boards, and publishers, as appropriate. Fisheries Saintek is responsible for deciding which submitted articles should be published. The validation of the work and its importance to researchers and readers should always drive such decisions. Editors may be guided by the discretion of the journal's editorial board and limited by applicable legal requirements, such as defamation, copyright infringement and plagiarism. Editors may consult with other editors or review partners in making this decision.

Aspects of Justice: 

The editors evaluate manuscripts at all times for the intellectual content of the authors regardless of the race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnicity, nationality, or political views of the authors.

Confidentiality: 

The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about the submitted manuscript to anyone other than the authors, reviewers, prospective reviewers, other appropriate editorial boards, and publishers, as appropriate.


Writer's Ethics

Writing standards: Authors must present articles that can be accounted for. The data presented in the article is accurate data. An article should be equipped with sufficient details and relevant references. Violation or any inaccurate statement is an unacceptable unethical act.

Publication of multiple articles or repetition: Basically, the author is not allowed to publish several articles describing essentially the same research in several journals at the same time. This is unethical publication behavior and is unacceptable.

Acknowledgment of sources: Authors must appropriately acknowledge the work of others. The author must cite other publications that influence the content of the article. Information obtained in private, such as conversations, correspondence or discussions with third parties, may not be used or reported without written permission from the source.

Article writers: The authors of the article should be limited to those who made a significant contribution to the writing of the article. All significant contributors should be included in the list of authors, while others should be appropriately acknowledged. Authors who correspond with Fisheries Sciences must ensure that other authors have read and approved the final version of the article and agree to submit it to Fishery Sciences for publication.

Disclosure and conflicts of interest: All authors must disclose in their articles if there is a substantive conflict of interest that could affect the results or interpretation of research results. All sources of financial support must be disclosed. Examples of potential conflicts of interest that should be disclosed are employment, consulting, shareholding, honoraria, paid expert statements, patent registrations or applications, and funding or grants.

Fundamental errors in published work: If the author finds significant errors or inaccuracies in his own published article, it is the responsibility of the author to immediately notify the journal editor or publisher and is willing to cooperate to retract or correct the erroneous article. If the editor or publisher knows of an error from another party that an article contains a significant error, it is the author's obligation to immediately withdraw the wrong article or correct the article by providing proof of correction to the editor.


 

Reviewer Ethics

Contribution to editorial decisions: Editors are assisted by reviewers to decide editorial aspects as well as steps to improve article quality.

Timeliness: If the appointed reviewer is unable to review the article for reasons of competence or inability to complete the assignment in a timely manner, the reviewer must notify the editor immediately and the reviewer withdraws from the review process.

Confidentiality: Any article that has been accepted for review must be kept confidential. Reviewers may not show or discuss with anyone other than the editor.

Standard of objectivity: The review process must be objective. Personal criticism of the author is unacceptable. Reviewers must express their responses clearly with supporting arguments.

Recognition of sources: Reviewers should identify relevant sources that have not been cited by the authors. Every statement. Reviewers must also explain to the editor if there are similarities with other articles.

Disclosure and conflicts of interest: Materials that are not published in the research articles may not be used for research by the reviewer, without written permission from the author. Reviewers may not involve themselves (must ask other reviewers).
