Author Guidelines

JURNAL HUKUM PROGRESIF WRITING TERMS (AUTHOR GUIDELINE)

Jurnal Hukum Progresif accepts original articles in any subject of law. Multidisciplinary research articles are welcomed, but a legal analysis must be a strong variable within that article. Articles are accepted year-round, and we publish twice a year: April and October.

  1. Article Submission

    We accept good research and conceptual articles in both English and Bahasa Indonesia. Submissions will first undergo a pre-review process. If the submission passes the pre-review process, it will then undergo a double-blind peer review process. The general guidelines to write articles are as follows:

    1. Articles must be original, meaning that it must not have been published in any other journal or books in whatever language.
    2. Articles may be in either English or Bahasa Indonesia.
    3. The Title Is Written In Times New Roman, Size: 13 Pt, Style: Bold, Centre, and Uppercase, Maximum 14 Words. Exclusively for research article, the article should be informed research identity in footnote format.
    4. Distance between Title and author’s name must be 2 spaces.
    5. The author’s name (write full name of the author without any qualifications), affiliation and institutional address, and email. That information should be written in small caps, starting with capital letters with single line spacing.
    6. The number of author could be more than 1 by adding comma ( , ). The correspondent author should be marked as “ * “. Corresponding author clearly indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication, also post-publication. Ensure that the e-mail address is given and that contact details are kept up to date by the corresponding author.
    7. If author name consists of two words, the first name should not be abbreviated and followed by the last name. If author name only consists of one word, it must be made in repetition.
    8. Abstract should be provided both in Bahasa and English with single spacing in one paragraph with 100-150 words. For abstract that written in English, The title should be written in bold and the content of the abstract should be written in italic style. For abstract that written in Bahasa, it should be written in sentence case.
    9. Abstract should contains  background, research urgency, research method (only for research article), result and conclusion.
    10. Keywords should be bold and consists of 3-5 words in lowercase with Times New Roman, font style: bold, alignment: justified.. Each word is separated by semicolon.
    11. Minimum number of research article page is 10 pages and maximum 15 pages. Meanwhile, minimum number of conceptual article pages is 9 pages and maximum 12 pages. This includes picture and table.

     

  2. Paper Format

    This journal welcomes research article and conceptual article. Submission of an article implied that the work has not been published previously, that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

    1. Research Article

      The guideline for research article as follows:

      1. Introduction

        Introduction should be clear and provide the issue to be discussed in the article. Introduction should be consist of the background, theory approach, state of the art, and gap analysis. At the end of the paragraph, the author should end with a comment on the significance concerning identification of the issue.

      2. Research Method

        The research method should be written in descriptive in two paragraphs.

      3. Result and Discussion

        This section is the most important section of the article. Contains the results of the object of study and should be clear and concise. This should explore the significance of the results of the work; avoid extensive citations and discussion of published literature.

      4. Conclusion and Suggestion

        The conclusion and suggestion may be presented in a short, which may stand alone or form a different section of an Analysis and Discussion section.

      5. References

        All publications cited in the text should be included as a list of Bibliography, arranged alphabetically by author. References that may be referred is all the publications in the last 10 (ten) years, except for certain references that have not been re-published/ the composition of the Bibliography should be 70% of national and international journal, thesis, and proceedings; 30% of the Bibliography is from books or others except Wikipedia and personal blog. Each article consists of 15 references in minimum and only cited reference are written in Bibliography.

    2. Conceptual Article

      The guideline for conceptual article as follows:

  3. Citation Guideline

    References at the end of the article should be written Chicago Manual of Style 16th edition (full note) Please use Reference Manager Mendeley.

  4. Bibliography

    The bibliography should be written in the end of the articles, titled “Bibliography”, written in Times New Roman 12, single spacing and indent on the second line of each bibliography. If the sources are varied, it should be put into groups: The bibliography of Jurnal Hukum Progresif use the same style as citation namely Chicago Manual of Style 16th edition (full note) by using Reference Manager Mendeley.

    1. Statutory regulations

      Nomenclature of statutory regulation with the number, year, and the official title of the regulation.

      Example:
      Undang-Undang Nomor 5 Tahun 1999 tentang Larangan Praktik Monopoli dan Persaingan Usaha Tidak Sehat

    2. Book
      1. One author

        Author’s last name, author’s first name, title of book (italic), city of publisher: publisher, year of publishing.

        Irianto, Sulistyowati. Memperkenalkan Studi Sosio Legal. Bandung: Yayasan Obor, 2006.

      2. Two authors

        The First Author’s last name, The First author’s first name and name of second author, title of book (italic), city of publisher: publisher, year of publishing.

        Kusnardi, Muhammad, and B. Saragih. Susunan Pembagian Kekuasaan Menurut Undang-Undang Dasar 1945. Jakarta: Gramedia Pustaka Utama, 1994.

      3. Author in Group or Institut

        Name of Group or Institution . title of book (italic), city of publisher: publisher, year of publishing.

        Bank Indonesia. Optimizing Macroprudential Policy to Support the Financial Stability. Jakarta: Bank Indonesia, 2016.

    3. Journal Article

      Author’s last name, author’s first name, title of article in quotation, name of journal (italic), journal volume, year of publication, cited page.

    4. Proceeding Article

  5. Number Format

    The Number Format of Jurnal Hukum Progressive as follows :

  6. Figure and Table

    The figures should be clearly readable and at least have a resolution of 300 DPI (Dots Per Inch) for good printing quality. Table made with the open model (without the vertical lines).

GUIDELINE FOR ONLINE SUBMISSION

Author should first register as Author and/or is offered as Reviewer through the following address:

https://ejournal.undip.ac.id/index.php/hukum_progresif/about/submissions#onlineSubmissions

Author should fulfil the form as detail as possible where the star marked form must be entered. After all form textbox was filled, Author clicks on Register button to proceed the registration. Therefore, Author is brought to online author submission interface where Author should click on New Submission. In the Start a New Submission section, click on Click Here: to go to step one of the five-step submission process. The following are five steps in online submission process:

  1. Step 1 - Starting the Submission: Select the appropriate section of journal, i.e. Original Research Articles or Review Article. Thus, author must check-mark on the submission checklists.
  2. Step 2 - Uploading the Submission: To upload a manuscript to this journal, click Browse on the Upload submission file item and choose the manuscript document file to be submitted, then click Upload button. 
  3. Step 3 - Entering Submission's Metadata: In this step, detail authors metadata should be entered including marked corresponding author. After that, manuscript title and abstract must be uploaded by copying the text and paste in the textbox including keywords.
  4. Step 4 - Uploading Supplementary Files: Supplementary file should be uploaded copyright agreement and authorship responsibility form. Therefore, click on Browse button, choose the files, and then click on Upload button.
  5. Step 5 - Confirming the Submission: Author should final check the uploaded manuscript documents in this step. To submit the manuscript to Jurnal Hukum Progresif, click Finish Submission button after the documents is true. The corresponding author or the principal contact will receive an acknowledgement by email and will be able to view the submission's progress through the editorial process by logging in to the journal web address site. 

After this submission, Authors who submit the manuscript will get a confirmation email about the submission. Therefore, Authors are able to track their submission status at any time by logging in to the online submission interface. The submission tracking includes the status of manuscript review and editorial process.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:
