Jurnal Ilmu Sosial (JIS, p-ISSN 1411-8254, e-ISSN 2548-4893) is a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing academic discourse, theoretical development, and empirical knowledge in the fields of social and political sciences. The journal aims to provide an inclusive academic platform for scholars, researchers, and practitioners to disseminate original ideas, critical analyses, and research findings that contribute to the understanding of contemporary social, administrative, political, communicative, and international issues.

This journal is published by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro. It has been accredited by the National Journal Accreditation, managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Republic of Indonesia, with a Second Grade from 2022 to 2026, as per Decree No.230/E/KPT/2022. As a fully open-access journal, Jurnal Ilmu Sosial makes all articles freely available to anyone, at any time, and from anywhere in the world

Jurnal Ilmu Sosial is indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Google Scholar,  SINTA-Science and Technology Index, Dimensions, and Crossref with a DOI number: 10.14710/jis.

For the year 2026, two issues are scheduled for publication in volume 25: Issue 1 (June) and Issue 2 (December), each containing 7-10 articles. The journal has been in publication since August 2006.
