Abstract
Polusi air merupakan penambahan material ke perairan yang akan mempengaruhi komposisi kimia, temperatur dan komposisi mikrobia. Beberapa jenis polusi ini, seperti benda-benda organik yang dapat membusuk, nutrisi berlebihan, padatan terlarut, bahan kimia toksik dan pencemaran termal, memiliki efek fisipologis terhadap ikan. Di antara bahan kimia toksik yang menyebabkan polusi tersebuut adalah logam. Terdapat logam tertentu yang dapat mempengaruhi status darah ikan, antara lain cadmium, timbal, merkuri dan tembaga
