This study aims to assess the value of sustainability based on the Mining Area Sustainability Index as a basis for formulating development policies. The results show that mining activities cause a reduction in forest cover and an increase in the level of environmental criticality, especially due to unconventional mining which is difficult to control. The community has a positive perception of mining activities. The results showed a sustainability score in the less sustainable category (42.55), with the environmental aspect as the lowest aspect. To improve the sustainability score, a moderate policy scenario was chosen as the best strategy, focusing on managing environmental impacts, utilizing ex-mining land, and improving community health and safety.
