Abstract

More than 7% of fisheries product from total catch in the world and has an important role as food sources in international trade are molluscs, including bivalves. These caught bivalves are consists of different size
and species. The purpose of this research is to investigate biochemical content of Anadara inaequivalvis at different time and size range. Sampling were done every month between August – October, 2003 at
Semarang waters. An amount of 150 individuals were taken every sampling time by using dredger. The samples were analyzed at Teluk Awur, Marine Lab. Jepara. The result of proximate analysis showed that
water content of A. inaequivalvis was between 78,94% - 80,49%. The highest water content was found on those collected on October with size range 30,01-35,00 mm. The carbohydrate content was between 1,05
- 3,77 %. The highest carbohydrate content was found on those collected on August with size range 20,00 – 25,00 mm. Protein content was between 12,01 – 13,22 %, and the highest concentration was found on
those collected on August with size range 30,01 – 35,00 mm. The lipid content was between 2,25 – 3,28 %, and the highest concentration was found on those collected on August with size range 30,01 – 35,00
mm. The mineral content was between 2,09 – 3,05 %, the highest mineral content was found on those collected on September with size range 30,01 –35,00 mm.
