Pemodelan Kepercayaan Petani Padi Sawah Terhadap Perubahan Iklim (Kasus Desa Kaserangan Kabupaten Serang Provinsi Banten)

Abstract

Sampai saat ini perubahan iklim belum menjadi isu yang mudah untuk dapat dipahami oleh kebanyakan petani. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kepercayaan petani, variabel komunikasi yang berhubungan dengan kepercayaan petani, dan model kepercayaan petani atas perubahan iklim. Survey melibatkan 48 petani di daerah pertanaman padi yang rentan terhadap dampak perubahan iklim. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebagian besar petani belum percaya bahwa perubahan iklim telah terjadi. Kepercayaan petani tersebut dipengaruhi oleh keragaman sumber informasi perubahan iklim mereka. Petani yang memiliki lebih banyak jenis sumber informasi perubahan iklim lebih percaya bahwa kondisi iklim telah berubah dari sebelumnya. Untuk itu keragaman sumber informasi perubahan iklim petani harus ditingkatkan. Studi ini menyarankan agar kapasitas penguasaan informasi perubahan iklim dari penyuluh pertanian dan petani ditingkatkan agar dapat menjadi sumber informasi perubahan iklim bagi petani lainnya, misalnya dengan memberikan diklat iklim. Selain itu informasi iklim disebarakan kepada petani melalui beragam media komunikasi, termasuk melalui siaran televisi dan radio lokal serta pertunjukkan media tradisional sehingga dapat menjadi alternatif sumber informasi perubahan iklim bagi petani.
