Penelitian yang sering dilakukan untuk mencari sumber alternatif lain yang berfungsi sebagai antibakteri karena adanya beberapa bakteri yang menjadi resisten terhadap suatu antibakteri. Bahan-bahan yang dilaporkan memiliki aktifitas antibakteri diantaranya adalah alang-alang. Alang-alang berkhasiat untuk obat radang ginjal akut, antibakteri, muntah darah, kencing nanah dan mimisan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh Kosentrasi Hambat Minimum (KHM) kadar sampel alang-alang sebagai antibakteri serta memperoleh data aktifitas antibakteri yang paling potensial kadar sampel alang-alang terhadap Escherechia coli, Pseudomonas aeroginosa , Staphylococcus aureus dan Bacillus subtilis . Salah satu metode yang digunakan dalam uji antibakteri yaitu metode difusi cakram kertas. Metode ini dilakukan dengan meletakkan cakram kertas yang telah direndam larutan uji di atas media padat yang telah diinokulasi dengan bakteri uji. Pertumbuhan bakteri diamati setelah diinokulasi untuk melihat zona bening disekitar cakram. Zona bening yang terbentuk di sekitar cakram pada konsentrasi antibakteri terendah merupakan nilai KHM. KHM kadar sampel alang-alang terhadap bakteri Escherechia coli, Pseudomonas aeroginosa, Staphylococcus aureus dan Bacillus subtilis berturut-turut dari kadar sampel daun dalam etanol sebesar 7%, 7%, 8% dan 9%; untuk kadar sampel bunga dalam etanol sebesar 7%, 7%, 9% dan 7%; dan untuk kadar sampel akar dalam etanol 7%, 8%, 10% dan 8% . Ketiga kadar sampel alang-alang cukup potensial untuk meghambat bakteri Escherichia coli . Kadar sampel daun dan bunga lebih potensial dibandingkan akar alang-alang untuk menghambat Pseudomonas aeroginosa . Kadar sampel yang paling potensial untuk menghambat Bacillus subtilis dan Staphylococcus aureus berturut-turut adalah kadar sampel daun dan kadar sampel bunga alang-alang.}, issn = {2597-9914}, pages = {130--135} doi = {10.14710/jksa.20.3.130-135}, url = {https://ejournal.undip.ac.id/index.php/ksa/article/view/16750} }
