Pembuatan arang aktif diawali dengan pengarangan tempurung kelapa sawit menggunakan tungku minimal oksigen (TMO). Arang yang diperoleh selanjutnya diaktivasi secara kimia melalui perendaman dalam larutan HCl, NaOH dan ZnCl 2 (1M) selama 10 jam. Karakterisasi hasil meliputi uji kadar air, kadar abu dan spekrofotometer FTIR. Daya adsorpsi arang aktif ditentukan terhadap minyak goreng sisa pakai dengan variasi temperatur dari 30°C hingga 110°C dengan selang 20°C dan variasi waktu kontak adsorpsi dari 15 menit hingga 105 menit dengan selang waktu 15 menit. Disimpulkan bahwa arang teraktivasi NaOH merupakan arang aktif yang paling efektif untuk adsorpsi minyak goreng sisa pakai dengan peningkatan daya pemucatan dari 10,19% sebelum aktivasi menjadi 34,1040% setelah aktivasi pada temperatur 30°C dan waktu kontak 75 menit.}, issn = {2597-9914}, pages = {36--40} doi = {10.14710/jksa.13.2.36-40}, url = {https://ejournal.undip.ac.id/index.php/ksa/article/view/15910} }
