Potensi tersebut dapat dimanfaatkan secara maksimal melalui pengetahuan daerah potensi penangkapan ikan. Penentuan DPI (Daerah Penangkapan Ikan) ikan pelagis oleh nelayan Pukat Cincin ( mini purse seine ) yang berbasis di PPN Pekalongan masih menggunakan cara tradisional melalui pengalaman terdahulu sehingga hasilnya kurang maksimal. Tujuan penelitian ini mengkaji nilai rata-rata suhu permukaan laut (SPL) dan konsentrasi klorofil-a secara musiman selama 3 tahun (2016-2018) melalui interpretasi citra satelit Aqua Modis serta menganalisis pengaruhnya terhadap hasil tangkapan ikan Tembang ( Sardinella fimbriata) . Sehingga didapat peta potensi DPI Ikan Tembang pada perikanan mini purse seine di Laut Jawa yang berbasis di PPN Pekalongan. Metode pengambilan data dilakukan melalui observasi lapangan. Metode penentuan daerah potensi penangkapan ikan dilakukan melalui pendekatan SPL dan konsentrasi klorofil-a dengan memperhatikan jalur penangkapan dan kedalaman perairan. Hasil yang didapat yakni rata-rata produksi ikan Tembang tertinggi pada tahun 2016 hingga 2018 di Laut Jawa didapat pada musim peralihan I dengan SPL 28,86oC dan konsentrasi klorofil-a 0,55 mg/m 3 . Analisis pengaruh SPL dan Klorofil-a terhadap hasil tangkapan dilakukan melalui regresi berganda dengan menyertakan uji asumsi klasik. Pengaruh SPL dan Klorofil-a terhadap hasil tangkapan dinilai cukup kuat terlihat dari koefisien korelasi (R) 0,795. Koefisien determinasi (R 2 ) 0,63, artinya SPL dan klorofil-a dapat menjelaskan hasil tangkapan 63%. Terdapat 3 lokasi yang berpotensi sebagai daerah penangkapan di Laut Jawa tepatnya Utara Kota Pekalongan yakni di perairan Tegal, Pemalang dan Pekalongan dengan daerah potensi terluas berada di perairan Pekalongan. The Java Sea is a water region with potential pelagic fish. Mini purse seine fisheries with fishing base on PPN Pekalongan was determined fishing ground by traditional way, so the result was not optimal. The research aims to observe seasonal variability of sea surface temperature (SST) and chlorophyll-a concentration for 3 years (2016-2018) from satellite image data Aqua Modis interpretation and analyze the relationship between catch and SST as well as between catch and chlorophyll-a. Final result from this research is map of Fringe Scale Sardine (Sardinella fimbriata) fishing ground for mini purse seine fishery in the Java Sea. This research apllied the theory that fishing ground can be determined by SST and chlorophyl-a. The results showed that the highest catch value in the Java Sea during 2016 till 2018 was occurred on transitional season while SST 28,86°C and chlorophyll-a concentration 0,55 mg/m³. This research use multiple regression which start by classical assumption test to analyze the relationship between catch and SST as well as between catch and chlorophyll-a. Also obtained correlation between SST and concentration of chlorophyll-a with the catch of Fringe Scale Sardine indicated strong correlation coeffisien (R) 0,795. While determination coefficient (R 2 ) 0,63 indicated that SST and chlorophyll-a can explain 63% of catch value.
