Adanya bentuk perakaran mangrove yang bervariasi dapat memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda terhadap laju sedimentasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan laju sedimentasi antara mangrove jenis Rhizophora sp. dengan Avicennia sp., serta untuk mengetahui pengaruh perbedaan bentuk akar mangrove terhadap laju sedimentasi. Penelitian dilakukan pada tanggal 7 April – 30 Juli 2018 di kawasan Hutan Mangrove Bedono, Demak. Kegiatan penelitian meliputi penentuan lokasi sampling melalui metode survei, pengukuran laju sedimentasi menggunakan sediment trap , pengukuran parameter fisika kimia dan analisis tekstur sedimen. Lokasi terdiri dari tiga stasiun, masing – masing stasiun terdapat enam titik. Tiga sediment trap diletakkan pada mangrove jenis Rhizophora sp. dan tiga lainnya pada mangrove jenis Avicennia sp. sehingga terdapat delapan belas titik. Laju sedimentasi Rhizophora sp. sebesar 13,01 mg//hari lebih rendah dari pada Avicennia sp. yaitu sebesar 16,78 mg/cm²/hari. Jenis substrat yang diperoleh berupa liat. Hasil uji ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa nilai p value = 0,015 . Kesimpulan yang diperoleh adalah bentuk akar tidak mempengaruhi jenis sedimen yang ditangkap dan jumlah hasil tangkapan sedimen Coastal areas were disturbed by abration. The purpose of this research were to find out ratio and effect of the mangrove root differences of Rhizophora sp. and Avicennia sp. to sedimentation rate. The study was conducted in April 7th - July 30th, 2018 in Bedono. The methods of the research were sampling, measuring the sedimentation rate sediment trap, measuring temperature, pH, salinity, and current velocity, and analyzing sediment texture. There were 3 stations with its station had 6 points. Three sediment traps were placed on Rhizophora sp. and the others 3 are in the Avicennia sp. Sedimentation rate of Rhizophora sp. amounting to 13,01 mg / / day lower than Avicennia sp. that is equal to 16,78 mg / / day. ANOVA test showed that p value = 0,015. The type of substrate obtained is clay.
