Dalam proses ini dilakukan sintesis heksil sinamat dari sinamaldehid dengan menggunakan metode oksidasi dan esterifikasi. Penentuan aktivitas heksil sinamat dilakukan dengan metode spektrofotometri UV-Vis dengan menentukan nilai Sun Protection Factor (SPF).
